    Description

    DESCRIPTION: Here is a cast iron plaque or medallion for the ..... S. C. H & L.  I think it stands for the Silver Creek Hook & Ladder.  It has nice embossing and nice original looking paint.   Design includes fire trumpet, helmet, ax, ladder and hook and the clever circular fire hose border.  I'm not sure what this came off of.  I'd guess it dates from 1900 - 1920's.  ...bought near Buffalo NY (an hour from Silver Creek NY).  The last pic is of a 1913 newspaper article I found from The Silver Creek Times.
