Lovely, 10 inch tall, Russian jointed, stockinette cloth doll,
circa late 1920s
, all original, with
sewn-in cloth
label

Made in Soviet Union/8092
, representing the peoples of the then recently formed USSR (Soviet Socialist Republic). This precious doll has tab-jointed arms and legs with slightly bent knees (so she can sit easily) and charmingly formed hands with individually molded fingers and separate thumbs. She is constructed of firmly stuffed cotton twill fabric (stockinette head) without any wire armature and having sweetly molded features including chin and mouth details, pretty blue eyes with high lights and nice cheek blush. She wears all her original provincial clothes including
a pretty cotton, grey plaid, printed (full length) skirt with charming, long brown, laced cotton weskit vest and separate apron tied around her waist, pretty red,
peasant style
babushka covering her long blond hair in thick braid at the back of her head,
long, peasant-style, cotton blouse with long full sleeves and gathered cuffs, undergarment and darling, black cotton shoes with leather-like soles and knit
stockings. She is in excellent, pristine condition
with no damages or odors, no tears or repairs and still having vivid color, (loc 18)
