Exquisite, 29" French RAYNAL, antique jointed cloth Les Poupees boudoir bed doll

Spring-time in Paris....
Here is a wonderful,
very hard to find
and gorgeous, 29" long, all originally dressed,
jointed
boudoir or bed doll,
circa 1925-30s. Manufactured by
Les Poupees RAYNAL of France and designed by Edouard Raynal
to compete with the Lenci dolls of the era,
she has beautiful,
side-glancing, brown painted eyes
with high-lights and lots of details including shading, blue eye shadow, thick eyelashes, eyebrows, rosy cheeks and closed pretty mouth. She has a
SWIVEL neck
and
joints
at her shoulders and legs with long
limbs,
(allowing her to be nicely seated) shaped flat feet with original black felt shoes and long stockings, lovely (perfect) jointed celluloid hands and full head of thick blonde, curly hair with long wrapped braids and thick bangs. Dressed in her provincial,
French
girl costume, this exceptional doll wears most of
her original French clothing
consisting of a long, pale blue floral apron and shoulder scarf with black velveteen trim tied around her waist (
and floral cotton head scarf with matching velveteen trim)
over her original charming, white cotton undies with straps and a long full, ruffled organdy petticoat with a
large hoop skirt to display her outfit
to best advantage as well as original, silk stockings and black felt shoes with button closures. Her
hard stuffed, pink cloth body
and head are in excellent condition with no holes, cracks, splits, tears or repairs. Her organdy petticoat requires washing and starch as there are old water stains and s
he requires a long cotton skirt or dress which is missing.
She has no missing or trimmed hair and no odors as she is from a smoke free home.
These spectacular dolls make a wonderful display and are getting quite scarce.
