Lovely antique felt, labeled LENCI, mascotte girl doll w/cross, very good cond.

Description

This beautiful, 8 1/2" tall, felt
"mascotte" or miniature series
, LENCI, provincial girl doll,
circa 1930s
is quite difficult to find with her "surprised", brown side-glancing eyes, multi-stroke eyelashes, molded and painted brows and lips. She has black braided hair beneath her big yellow and blue felt bonnet with embroidered flowers and black cap with blue felt ties and large brass hoop earrings. She wears a necklace with a simple gold painted, wooden cross around her neck and wears a long blue felt apron with applied felt, polka dots over her long, red striped felt skirt with yellow felt stripes. Beneath she wears a long cotton petticoat and matching pantalettes with bright red, scalloped felt trim, white organdy blouse with ruffled neckline, scarf, black felt vest and shoes. The woven cloth LENCI label is attached to her skirt:
Ars Lenci/Made in Italy, TORINO/New York, Paris, London.
She is in good condition with no damages or repairs, some slight overall age related darkening to the organdy blouse (2-3 very tiny pin holes in apron). (loc K4) No fading or odors, from a smoke free home.
