    Description

    Celebrating American made dolls ...
Adorable original, early circa 1923,  soft-stuffed,
    printed cloth
    doll designed by
    Grace Drayton
exactly as she first appeared in,
    "The Ladies Home Journal"
    , for the
Dolly Dingle line of paperdoll cut-outs.
Between the years, 1912 and 1933, Grace drew over two hundred paperdoll pages for the
    "
    Pictorial Review"
alone. Many of these were the "Dollie Dingle" series of paperdoll cut-out pages.
    "Dolly" was manufactured for the
    Madame Hendren
line of dolls produced by the
    Averill Mfg. Co.
and  is, 12 1/2" tall, with large printed
    googly
    👀
    eyes
, an impish smile, cute little pug nose and  painted blond hair in ringlets. She wears her printed, rust brown, high-button boots, green dress with big bow, dark blue double-breasted jacket with "fur" trim, matching bonnet and brown "leather" gloves. She is in excellent condition with no tears, splits or repairs, no stains or odors and is from a smoke free home.
Other, "Dolly Dingle", antique cloth dolls, kitty and Grace Drayton book illustrations are shown only for reference,
    not included
    and
    listed separately
    .
