We are offering a vintage signed Virginia Metalcrafters copy of an 18
th
C. cast iron fire mark. They started production in 1890 and eventually in the mid-1900's became well known for producing excellent quality historical reproductions for Old Sturbridge Village, Colonial Williamsburg and the Smithsonian, among others. The original of this 1950's copy was first produced in the early 1800's. The upper portion of this piece spent a long time in water and has corroded, but it does give it a look of authenticity! There is a very good maker's mark on the back with 22-2 below it. Please refer to the photos. They give you the best look and determination of condition. It is a heavy piece (5 lbs.) so we are offering "Medium Flat Rate Box" as a shipping option.
