a excellent fuel filter from bosch that blows away those cheapie  chinese ones!
On all of our personal VWs and every VW we work on, we only use real Bosch fuel filters. We've tried the cheapie Chinese ones, and the quality is so poor they aren't even worth considering. Plus - the Bosch  filters are still inexpensive despite being great quality
!  We change our fuel filter at every oil change as a minimum but will do it earlier if needed. This auction is for two (2) brand  new Bosch fuel filters. At this price - it's a no-brainer!

What you get:
2 x Part # 71936 - Bosch Plastic Fuel Filter - filter has 6mm and 8mm  fittings on each end and can be used with both 5mm and 7mm fuel hose. These filters are also very useful as a fuel hose size  step-up or step-down if going from a smaller fitting on the fuel  tank to a larger fitting on an aftermarket carb.
Please note! Bosch sometimes changes the boxes these are in and their part number also will move around. 71936 is their short number but they also show up under 1730 and F00E368481 and other numbers. These are all the same filter but we can't guarantee the packaging you'll get!
Applications
:
fits all air-cooled VWs except those still running fuel  injection
Installation notes:
We always install our fuel filter before the fuel pump and out  of the engine compartment. Your fuel pump already has a  screen/filter in it so there is no reason to sacrifice your   fuel pump to save your fuel filter. We recommend to not put the  fuel filter between the carb and the pump also as your  carburetor has a pressed-in fuel fitting and over the years it  can get loose, pop out, and cause an engine fire. Adding the  weight of a fuel filter to it just makes it worse (on a sidenote  - always safety wire this fitting back to the carb for your  protection!)
